Sports Day
The Wallace Hall Academy Sports Day took place on Tuesday 7th June with competition fierce for the fantastic array of silverware up for grabs. Every one of these trophies has generations of names engraved on them and success at the 2022 Sports Day ensured that this year’s winners join the long list of previous winners that have become part of Wallace Hall Academy’s 300-year sporting history.
Following a programme of heats in track and field events, the final races took place in the afternoon with competitors giving their very best in front of an enthusiastic crowd of staff and pupils. The sun shone and it was great to have the whole school outside supporting the event.
The winners were as follows:
S1 Girls’ Sports Champion – Grace Brydon-Brown
S1 Boys’ Sports Champion – Richie Maxwell
S2 Girls’ Sports Champion – Stevie Gildert
S2 Boys’ Sports Champion - Reilly Dillon
S3 Girls’ Sports Champion - Amy McBride
S3 Boys’ Sports Champion - Hately Henderson
Senior Girls’ Sports Champion - Lara Barnes
Senior Boys’ Sports Champion - Jules Andreason
TS Herd Trophy for the Girls’ Mile Race - Stevie Gildert
The Walker Trophy for the Boys’ Mile Race - Angus MacCormick
Alan Lindsay, PT PE, HE and Health and Wellbeing, said: “This is my first Sports Day since joining the staff at Wallace Hall Academy and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. It was a lovely atmosphere with pupils and staff cheering on the competitors to victory. Well done to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success.”
