Associate Primary Schools

Wallace Hall Academy is the territorial school for the communities of Auldgirth, Carronbridge, Closeburn, Dunscore, Durisdeer, Moniaive, Penpont and Thornhill. Children from Duncow Primary may choose to attend Wallace Hall Academy or Dumfries High School. Parents from outwith the catchment area may opt to send their family here but are required to make their own travel arrangements.

Enrolment

To give parents an idea of the school and its facilities we have an Open Evening at some point before Christmas.

To help make the step from Primary School to Secondary School easier all our P7 pupils are invited to the school on a three day familiarisation visit in June. During this visit they meet their new teachers and classmates and find out about the new subjects they will meet again in August. If your son or daughter does not attend one of our "associate" primary schools you may still enrol him or her in Wallace Hall Academy. There is space on the enrolment form PP1 which you should complete. If you would like to visit the school first, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a meeting.
